You Can’t Go Back

Tuesday night I attended the quarterly meeting of the Bridgeville Historical Society. Exciting? Well, that depends. Anytime you learn something new, it should be exciting. At the intersection of Main and Market Streets is a Dollar Store with a large parking lot, underneath which lie the ruins of the home I grew up in. It is such a strange feeling when I drive by….some sadness for me yes, but sadness for the community that lost the second oldest home in town…1700’s…so much history…so many stories lost. However, the meeting was very nice, learned some new stuff…..reminded of the French fries with gravy at the Bridgeville Diner and the homemade pot luck was really good as was the company, especially the company. You can not go home again, but you can feel really good abou it…tom
